Although we have blocked a large number airline seats, we consider them to be limited as we have received a very high volume of requests from people who were waiting for the final prices. Now that they are out, we expect a large number of immediate confirmations. As far as the hotels are concerned, the Riveria is always the Jazz Fest favorite and therefore rooms go very quickly. Even though the Hotel Nacional is not the main hotel for the Jazz Festival as is the Riviera, it is a perennial favorite for all travelers. The Jazz Festival happens to coincide in part with the International Film Festival in Havana (December 3 to the 13th) the Nacional being the main headquarters for this major annual event. The Vedado and Colina are smaller hotels and thus have a relatively smaller number of rooms available in comparison to the Riviera and Nacional hotels.
Taking all this into consideration, we strongly suggest immediate down payment.
Deposit and Final Payment
A 200 $ CA deposit and full payment of cancellation insurance if traveler opts for insurance with VCC is required as the down payment in order for VCC to reserve your Jazz Festival Tour. At the time of the down payment, the person must also indicate double or single occupancy, in the case of the former, also indicating the name of the person with whom the double occupancy is to be shared. The tour is sold on a first come, first serve basis. If the payment reaches our office and no more space is available for the flight and hotel requested, then VCC can offer you another flight and air alternative that you are free to reject or accept. If no alternative is available to your liking, then the check will be returned or your credit card will not be charged without any costs to you.
Any requests for add-ons in Cuba such as a one-week holiday, must be made at the time of your down payment for the main Jazz Tour and an additional 100 $ CA will be requested to secure this reservation as well.
The final payment must reach our office at the latest 70 (seventy) days before the departure date, that is by October 1, 2002.
Once you have made your down payment, you will get a receipt from VCC with an invoice requesting the final payment, indicating the exact amount to be paid and the date due.
If VCC does not receive the full balance payment in time, VCC reserves the right to cancel your request and the down payment will be 100 % non-refundable.
Cancellation and cancellation fees
100 $ of the 200 $ down payment is non-refundable under any circumstances.
If VCC receives a request for cancellation by August 1, then 100 $ will be refunded.
For a cancellation request made between August 1st and September 30, then the 200 $ deposit is 100 % non-refundable.
For cancellations received from 70 days up to 45 days before departure, that is from October 1 to October 25, then the cancellation penalty is 50 % of the total payment.
Any cancellation after October 25 is 100 % non refundable.
Any change between single and double occupancy after the initial down payment will be subject to a 50 $ CA service charge provided that VCC can effectuate the change desired. Note: VCC does not offer twining for the Jazz Tour.
It is the responsibility of the traveler to provide to VCC the same name as to be found in your passport. Any error on the name on your part will be subject to a 50 $ CA penalty.
Passport and baggage allowance
It is the responsibility of the travelers to have in your possession at the departure time, during the trip and for the return from Cuba a valid passport.
Baggage allowance consists of two bags with one carry-on for a total of 20 kilos.
